'This very curious book containing the illustrations to Sturts Prayer Book appears from the writing on the back of the frontispiece to have been presented to the Lady Anne Hyde, daughter of the Earl of Clarendon and the first wife of the Duke of York afterwards James the Second, and from circumstances known to the writer of this note there is much reason to believe that subsequently this book became the property of the Duchess of Buckingham wife of John Sheffield Duke of Buckingham who built Buckingham House, now the Royal Palace in St. James's Park. This book is presented to Lucy Catherine Hatchett by her affectionate Grandfather Chas. Hatchett. Bell Vue House Chelsea 6th February 1841.'
